National Award For Senior Citizens (vayoshreshtha Samman): Best Urban Local Body In Providing Services And Facilities To Senior Citizens

The Vayoshreshtha Samman award recognizes and honors urban local bodies (municipal corporations and councils) that provide outstanding services and facilities to senior citizens. Run by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, this national award celebrates the best practices in senior citizen welfare at the urban level. Selected municipal bodies are felicitated by the President of India on October 1st at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, during the National Senior Citizens Day celebration.
