Editorial Policy
How JanSevaPlus researches, verifies, and maintains scheme data
Our Commitment
JanSevaPlus is committed to providing accurate, timely, and accessible information about Indian government schemes. We understand that citizens rely on this information to access benefits they are legally entitled to. An error in eligibility criteria or benefit amount can lead to missed opportunities for vulnerable individuals and families.
This editorial policy governs how we collect, verify, present, and maintain all scheme-related content on this platform. It applies to our editorial team, contributing researchers, and AI-assisted content generation tools.
JanSevaPlus is developed and operated by Zoplax Technologies, a technology company focused on digital information systems. Zoplax Technologies maintains this platform with a commitment to accuracy and citizen welfare, with no commercial influence over scheme listings or editorial content.
Editorial Principles
Official Sources Only
Every scheme on JanSevaPlus is sourced exclusively from official government websites: ministry portals, scheme-specific official portals, PIB press releases, and Gazette notifications. We never source scheme data from unofficial third-party sites, news articles, or social media.
Fact-Checked Before Publication
Before any scheme is published, our editorial team cross-verifies key facts — eligibility criteria, benefit amounts, income limits, and application procedures — across at least two official sources. Schemes with conflicting information are held pending clarification.
Regular Update Cycle
Our scheme database is reviewed on a monthly basis. High-traffic schemes (PM-KISAN, PMAY, Ayushman Bharat, NSP scholarships) are reviewed weekly during peak application seasons. Outdated schemes are flagged or removed.
No Paid Placement
JanSevaPlus does not accept payment for featuring, ranking, or otherwise promoting any government scheme. Our listing order is based on official scheme importance, search relevance, and user benefit — never commercial considerations.
Plain Language Rewriting
Official scheme documents are often written in complex bureaucratic language. Our editorial team rewrites scheme descriptions in simple, jargon-free English while strictly preserving factual accuracy. We do not add, remove, or distort any eligibility criterion.
Our Editorial Process
Data Collection
Scheme data is collected from official government websites, ministry press releases, and the India Budget documents. Our scraping and research tools flag new scheme announcements within 24–48 hours of official publication.
Verification
Each scheme's eligibility criteria, benefit amounts, and application procedure are verified against the primary official source. Income limits and document requirements are cross-checked against the official scheme guidelines.
Editorial Review
A second reviewer reads the scheme entry for factual accuracy, completeness, and clarity. Any ambiguity about eligibility is flagged with a note directing users to the official portal.
Publication
The scheme is published with a 'Last Verified' date stamp, the official source URL, and a link to the official application portal. The verified date is updated every time the scheme is reviewed.
Monitoring & Updates
After publication, our monitoring system tracks the official scheme URLs for changes. Scheme closures, eligibility changes, and benefit revisions are updated typically within 7 days of official notification.
Use of AI Tools
JanSevaPlus uses AI language models (including large language models such as Llama 3) to assist in drafting plain-language blog articles and scheme guides. Blog articles on this platform are AI-assisted drafts written based on official government sources. Each post is labelled with the author responsible for its research direction and category accuracy.
Scheme database entries — eligibility criteria, benefit amounts, income limits, and application procedures — are sourced directly from official government portals and are not AI-generated. AI tools are only used to improve readability of the plain-language descriptions.
We display a "Last Verified" date on every scheme page. If you find a discrepancy between our data and the official source, please report it to admin@jansevaplus.in.
Corrections Policy
We take corrections seriously. If a factual error is reported:
- › We aim to verify and correct material errors within 72 business hours of report.
- › Corrections are made in-place with an updated "Last Verified" timestamp.
- › For corrections to officially closed or modified schemes, we add a prominent notice at the top of the scheme page.
- › We do not silently delete pages — scheme pages for closed schemes are maintained with a "This scheme has been closed" notice for historical reference.
Important Limitation
Despite our best efforts, scheme details — including eligibility criteria, benefit amounts, and application procedures — can change without advance notice when the government modifies or closes schemes. JanSevaPlus cannot guarantee real-time accuracy. Always verify scheme details on the official government portal before applying. We link to the official portal on every scheme page.
Report an Error
Found incorrect or outdated information? Please email us with the scheme name, the specific error, and a link to the official source. We take every report seriously.
