Nari Niketans
Nari Niketans is a shelter and rehabilitation program run by the Social Welfare Department of Jammu and Kashmir since 1976. It provides residential care and support to women who are destitute, deserted, or widowed and have no means to earn a living. There are seven Nari Niketan centers across Jammu and Kashmir. This is a fully state-funded scheme.
