Insurance Scheme For Artisans Component of the Development of Handicrafts Scheme
This insurance scheme protects registered artisans and handicraft workers in Puducherry by providing life and disability coverage through Jana Shree Bima Yojana or similar LIC policies. The scheme is run under the Development of Handicrafts Scheme to ensure artisans have financial security against death and disability. The government and a Social Security Fund jointly pay the insurance premium, with each contributing 50% of the cost.
