The new units which commence production on or after 2-8-2004 would alone be eligible for this incentive for 5 years.

- Gender: Male only
- Age: 18–100 years
- Residence: Puducherry residents only
- New manufacturing units that started production on or after 2 August 2004
- Units must be registered and operational in Puducherry
- Employer must have hired workers covered under Provident Fund
- Unit must be in the industrial sector eligible under the scheme
